Who will you see?

You will be seen by  me, a qualified dietitian and nutritionist. Dietitians are the only nutrition professionals to be regulated by law, and are governed by an ethical code to ensure that we always work to the highest standard. A dietitian is an expert in dietetics; that is, human nutrition and the regulation of diet.

Don't forget to follow me on instagram or facebook for regular nutrition tips!

Who am I?

My name is Orla Stone and I am a state registered dietitian, having qualified with a BSc and a Dip in Human Nutrition and Dietitics from Trinity College Dublin in 2001. I am a member of the British Dietetic Association and I am regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council.

Having worked as a dietitian for over 18 years in both the NHS and private sector I have been able to see the benefit that dietary change and nutrition can have on a person’s well-being.

While working in the NHS I covered areas including allergy, oncology, cardiology, stroke, neonatal unit, epilepsy and the ketogenic diet. I was privileged to have worked with some of the top London consultants and to be at the forefront of current research.

I now prefer to work in private practice where I have developed my interest in mental wellness, sustainable eating, gut health including irritable bowel syndrome, underactive thyroid, cancer prevention, overall nutritional balance as well as other medical conditions.

This vast background of medical knowledge allows me to understand your nutritional needs at a deeper level. My aim has always been to guide clients through dietary changes which are acceptable and achievable. It is a partnership where we work together to achieve the results that you want.

I have also had the opportunity to work with Regional Radio (which broadcasts to Surrey and Hampshire) to produce podcasts on nutrition and mental health.

I am the associated dietitian with The Eaves Counselling and Psychology Centre in Surrey and I have also worked with large companies to improve the health and well-being of their workforce.

I am really pleased to have partnered with Matthew Radley and Associates in 2019 and to see that they understand the value and importance of nutrition on mental resilience when coupled with coaching.

What have previous clients said?

Liz, Mum of 2

My IBS was beginning to have a real impact on my wellbeing and when Orla offered to help me I jumped at the chance. She put me on the low FODMAP diet. At first it was really hard to adapt my habits, especially shopping and family meals. Orla was great in supporting me through that transition including giving me useful recipes and alternative suggestions. I found that the diet really improved the way that I felt and was surprised by the impact. I now have control over my symptoms and feel so much more comfortable as well as healthy.

My nutritional analysis was a great way to check that I was eating the correct foods to maintain my health for the long term. I needed to increase my intake of certain vitamins and mierals which Orla explained how to do.

My dietary analysis helped to show me where I was falling down nutritionally. I was consuming far too much saturated fat and sugar despite having a healthy diet overall. A few changes sorted this out. It also showed me that I needed to increase my intake of certain minerals.

Orla helped me a few months ago when I was really struggling with PMT symptoms. In addition to period pains, bloating and discomfort, I was also experiencing massive mood swings, irritability, anger and brain fog. Orla took time to check my diet, weight and height and suggested a few diet tweaks. The major break through was on my supplements. She recommended a new multi vitamin and a probiotic (which I’ve never taken before). Since I’ve been taking these the brain fog has cleared, bloating gone and mood swings have definitely lessened. I’ve noticed if I forget the probiotics for a few days the stomach discomfort returns so these are now essential as part of my daily routine. Thank you Orla!

I would highly recommend Orla. She is a real expert in her area, bringing the latest research and findings on the gut/ brain axis in a way that is meaningful and actionable to the client. She is very personable and thorough in her approach.

As an IBS sufferer, I had previously invested in a variety of interventions but had always come away slightly bamboozled and overloaded with, what felt like, generic information. What Orla gave me were some simple tweaks to my diet that I can honestly say have had a huge impact on my gut (and therefore brain) health.

Orla is an expert in her field, so much so that we are now working in partnership with Orla to create a unique and innovative Executive Resilience Coaching Programme integrating the very best of nutritional analysis, body composition, and gut/brain axis. A professional and extremely competent Dietitian and Nutritionist.
